The view from my perch on the mountain

Sunday afternoon on the idiot strip

The view from our kitchen window. Mile marker 68.5 on Interstate 81. Luckily that northbound rig rolled over before it could cross into southbound traffic.

  2. Looks like it just stopped and decided to roll over. (Good think it wasn’t carrying fuel.)

  3. Looks like I’m going to need a larger hat. I wrote up my observations, attached the photos and e-mailed them to the local NBC affiliate. The story ran, verbatim and under my tagline in the number 2 slot on the 6:00PM news! not bad considering I was bumped back by a fast breaking story about a house fire.

    • Yes ma’am, fame at last and it didn’t involve a police officer saying “Watch your head, Mr. Allen.” so I’m one up on my brothers!

  5. If the local news readers can be believed this morning it appears the truck driver, may have nodded off at the wheel. He escaped without serious injury and there were no other vehicles involved. I can’t help but think that it was sheer dumb luck that he didn’t cross into oncoming traffic or run off the right side of the road and take out someone’s home.
