The view from my perch on the mountain

Random afternoon shots

We still have a little autumn color, both natural and man made.

The drifting clouds and moon visible at 2:00 PM made for some interesting shots.

The view from the parking lot captured while Sam was doing some “lawn care”.

I thought the swirl in the clouds called for a black and white treatment.

The view from another parking lot while THE BOSS was making the car payment. “Objects in rear view mirror are closer than they appear.”

By request, Laura’s dinner of steamed snow crab legs. That platter was stacked full when she sat down. She is a lean, mean crab eating machine. What is not shown is the plate of steamed shrimp her mother had to help her eat while the crab legs were cooking. I also made a pot of Shrimp Creole that will be just fine for lunch tomorrow.

Oh, did I mention we discovered that Sam is a fiend for shellfish? Frankie gave him half a shrimp which he wolfed down. When she gave him the other half he dropped it on the floor…..until she moved to pick it up at which point she nearly lost a few fingers. Not only did he practically inhale that jumbo shrimp, when Laura gave him a taste of crab he tried to climb into her lap!

Hiya Chip. I think the photo of the wing mirror is very clever. The seafood sounds lush!. Nice to hear Sam is back to his usual self now.

  3. Shouldn’t come as any great surprise that I am raving over the moon photos 😉 Sam tried to climb into Laura’s lap? lol Oh dear! Poor Laura! After he’d squashed and licked her to death no doubt he would have wolfed the whole plate down in one Samish bite!

Oooh wee look at that plate of crab legs! Yum!

LOVE those Autumn shots Chip. The one in the car mirror is neat! *looking back at Autumn* haha
I don’t want it to end. Already the treeline that separates us from our neighbors is thinning. No more walking around half dressed on the deck in the early morning hours. lol

  6. Woof….move over, Sam. I LOVE crabs and shrimp! Lol, I can’t say I ever had a dog that loved seafood, but I did have one that would kill for green beans. That same dog (the Cocker, Winnie, that was in one of my blogs) was a fiend for bubble gum — had to be bubble gum and not anything else. She’d chew it for hours and then drop it into her wicker bed for a bit and then go back for it later on that day. She was never wasteful, hahahaha. That look on her face while she chewed that gum, oh wow; all she needed was a pair of jeans, sunglasses, and a lamp post to lean against. Yeah, my little gum chewing delinquent dog 🙂
Now back to your photos (so sorry I get to rambling). All are so good, but my eye went to the black and white of the swirling clouds. To me, I could still see every movement in them and there was something very spiritual about the entire scene at the same time. I loved it. 😀

Love that pic with the building, the blue sky and the moon! I can see why you have to copyright your pics now! The black and white swirly clouds is my second fav. Oooh, looks like a great cover for a mystery novel….!
