The view from my perch on the mountain

Blue Ridge Autumn 2009

Summer’s last gasp has produced hot, hazy and humid weather today. The air is thick, making it difficult for me to breathe, and shooting conditions poor so I thought I would recycle some of my favorite shots from last year. I think these images are far more eloquent than I could ever be so I’ll let them speak for themselves.

Crystal clear October skies produce outstanding vistas from the taller peaks. The ridge visible on the horizon 11 miles away is Pine Ridge, where we live.

  2. Oh, so this is last year. You had me rushing the season there for a minute. It got hot here again, too, enough that I had to close the house up again to be able to work.
